MISSION TRIP
We offer two missions trips per year. Details can be found on our events page and/or calendar. HMI will:
1. Assist you in acquiring all of the necessary documents for foreign travel.
2. Make sure you are knowledgeable about the country/culture you will be visiting.
3. Share with you the ministry activities we will be involved in.
4. Set aside a day to enjoy the foreign culture before returning home.
Brazil Trip
Our second trip of 2025 is scheduled for October 14th - 21st. We will return to Belo Horizonte, Brazil with a team to aid in construction projects, street ministry and visit surrounding ministries. The trip will be a total of seven days; two of those seven days will consist of travel time to and from. It takes nearly an entire day to travel to Belo Horizonte; 15 hours of flight time plus layovers.
Mozambique
The attached video, one of several, was shared with us by a pastor friend of ours. The video shows a children’s ministry in this small village. As you see, they are conducting a “Sunday School”-type worship service with the children. Some reports say sometimes as many as 400 children attend these services. We praise God for the worship and gospel message the children are receiving, as well as a meal; usually rice and beans. We have asked other local ministries to help us locate these children. The area is vast, the climate is hot and the country is plagued by poverty and political unrest. Some urgent needs we have identified are: a local source of water (pots of water are carried on the heads of women and children from great distances to their homes), food, school supplies and flip-flops for the children (children are not allowed to attend school without at least flip-flops on their feet). We are planning an exploratory trip to connect with a known local ministry to verify the legitimacy of this children’s ministry, and assess the needs before leading a team to this area
